Family Focused
Games
- Play as a family
- Some games just for fun, others teach valuable
skills (and still are a ton of fun!)
- Children learn so much faster when
they are able to play a gamer that instantly puts new concepts to practice (the same is true for
adults)
Below find some game ideas; see if your family enjoys
them:
- I Spy. This is an
old and simple game that can be a lot of fun for the whole
family. You can play the game anywhere. It is a lot of fun to play this
game outdoors. To play ask your child 'I spy something green. Can you find it?
Or 'I spy some ants. How many are there?' The child
then finds the object/s you're spying. Then you take turns;
your child spies something and you find it. Great fun!
Here are some links we think you will enjoy. These are organizations that foster learning via
playing highly interactive games. While their events are currently for adults only we believe that
they offer great value for parents because you will be able to pass on a lot to your children from
them. Plus you learn a lot about how you can teach your kids through playing games and have tons of fun doing
it!
http://www.frontiertrainings.com - Frontier
Trainings offers an excellent introductory seminar called "Play to Win". Clinton Swaine has perfected
the art of teaching personal and business topics through games. It's like being part of a theatre
group. :-) It's even free to attend! Gotta check it out.
http://www.excellerated.com - Honestly, the "Money & You"
seminar offered by the Excellerated Business School is one of the best seminars we ever went to. The
teaching technology is both exciting and amazingly effective. In our experience, the shifts in mindset
about your life as a whole and about money will make a positive and lasting difference in your
and your family's life. This is such a gift to give to yourself and your family.
